GLOBAL NETWORK OF RELIGIONS FOR CHILDREN

PHOTO

A 10-point message of peace was handed over al the UN’s Special Session on Children. The message, which was addressed to the heads of State, civil and religious leaders, media directors, national and international organisations, was supported by over 320,000 signatures for peace from all over the world, 500 of which were of leading personalities in the fields of politics, culture and religion.

The message was the mouthpiece of all teenagers in the world who suffer exploitation, wars and diseases. It offered concrete suggestions with regards to the relationships between individuals and peoples, as well as on the media, ecology, new technologies, drugs, Aids, and globalisation. It proposed the spread of a new culture, the culture of giving and sharing.

The first step: writing off the foreign debts of poor countries.

Besides it called for “a globalisation that is based not only on the financial and economic aspect but also on the communion between cultures and religions, so that humankind becomes one family”, and that “education for peace forms part of school curriculum”.

“We have already begun to build peace. But we need you!”
